28 Mar The 3rd Gen August Smart Lock Pro 3rd Gen is a Must-Have for Home Security
We have all been there before. You are out and about, and then the creeping feeling hits you—did you forget to lock the door to your house? The anxiety of not knowing how secure your home and possessions are can be awful. Luckily, the 3rd Gen August Smart Lock Pro gives you a way to check and lock/unlock the doors of your house from wherever you are.
The small circular device is light and can be attached to most single cylinder deadbolt fixtures; all you need is a screwdriver to place the door sensor mount. They offer free installation, so you can have a professional come and flush mount the door sensor on the inside frame of the door, or you can do it yourself if you have the tools. The proprietary DoorSense technology makes sure your door is fully shut and locked. The companion app allows you to monitor your doors, lock/unlock doors from afar, tracks activity, and alerts you of any unauthorized access. Just download it, register your product and you can get started using the smart lock.
The August Smart Lock Pro essentially turns your smartphone into the key. Not only can you access the lock directly from your phone but you can also set it up so that your door automatically locks/unlocks when you leave/arrive. Simply go near the door and the sensor will pick up your phone signal and lock/unlock. Now you never have to worry about forgetting to lock your door. One touch control from anywhere means you can unlock your door if a guest arrives and you are not around. The app keeps an activity log so you can know who is coming and going. You don’t have to exclusively use the Smart lock either; you can still use your regular keys anytime you want.
The August Smart Lock also offers nice compatibilities with voice command features. You can link it up to Alexa, Siri, or your Google Assistant–then just use your voice as a key. You do have to have a smartphone to use the lock, and the app only works on Android 5.0 or higher and iOS 9.0 or higher. If you aren’t into all the technology and “smart” devices, you can always secure your home with a standard Add-a-Lock Portable Door Lock.
