Forget Smartwatches. ORII is an All-in-One Smart Ring

Smartwatches may be the cool thing right now, but maybe smart rings are the way of the future. At least, that’s what ORII is hoping, with their new smart ring, a much more subtle, sleek and unobtrusive way to carry a smart device on your finger and with you at all times.

Like standard smart devices, ORII connects to your phone using Wifi and Bluetooth. You can then control it, using nothing but your voice. The coolest part about ORRI: it uses “bone-conduction” technology, which allows you to take calls and listen to audio covertly by simply touching your finger to the base of your ear. It works like a hearing aid, and channels the audio through your finger to your ear, so you can hear crystal-clear sound in noisy places and without anyone else hearing.

There’s no screen, meaning that there is nothing to distract you from what’s in front of you, and everything functions through audio and voice commands only, and is compatible with both Google Assistant and Siri. You make and take calls simply by pressing your finger to your ear. ORII is supposed to be as simple and streamlined as possible; the only two buttons on the whole thing are recessed and hidden within the ring itself, so it remains sleek and unobtrusive.  Notifications are filtered to your settings, as well, so only the things that really matter to you come through.

ORII is scratch and splashproof, rated to IPX7 – more than enough for everyday wear and use. The battery lasts up to 1 hour of active talk-time, and 45 hours on standby.

Smartwatches may not be going extinct anytime soon, but if you’re looking for all the features and functionality of a smartwatch, but want something a little smaller and less distracting, ORII makes a great option.
