Szanto’s goal in fine watchmaking was to create the perfect balance between modern style and old-time, vintage military watch designs of the early 20th century. We think they’ve done a pretty good job. This Szanto Heritage Aviator watch is made of a classy gunmetal, brushed stainless-steel case, 46mm in diameter, with a Japanese quartz movement. The display is a classic military/aviator look, with thick hands in an ivory tone dial, protected by a thick mineral crystal. It’s waterproof down to 330 feet just in case you feel like doing some diving, too.
A 22mm, green canvas strap evokes that classic field look, and keeps the watch securely fastened to your wrist with the buckle closure. Szanto knows what they’re doing when it comes to creating vintage timepieces, and this one is no different.
A few other watches you might enjoy from Szanto include the rest of the Heritage Aviator series, and the Military Field 1112, with it’s gorgeous brown leather strap and black plating. They also make some more exclusively modern dive watches, like the durable 5000 series – which manages to add a bit of style to an otherwise clunky design.
So for your next watch, look at a Szanto and support a family-owned, local watchmaker.
