SCARPA shoes are “born in the Dolomites,” and they provide some of the most cutting-edge hiking and mountaineering shoes combined with true Italian workmanship. If you’d like to equip your feet with the most comfortable climbing or running shoes in existence, here’s a couple new favorites.

SCARPA doesn’t just call their shoes “trail running” shoes. Nope, these are Alpine Running shoes; shoes that let you tackle both backwoods trails and high-mountain ascents. The Neutron 2 GTX is their most versatile, with a waterproof leather upper, “open forefoot flex zone” and Vibram Genetic 2 outsole with Megagrip – about sure a grip as it gets. The waterproof lining is Gore-Tex Extended Comfort. These elements combine for the most traction and versatility on any terrain and even in inclement weather and make the Neutron 2 one of the best running shoes for any situation.

The Spin, on the other hand, is a lighter, lower-profile shoe than the Neutron, offering both decent support and light weight and simplicity. A pair weighs only a pound, built out of mesh upper and a Vibram Fixion Megagrip outsole. There is enough padding to keep your feet comfortable while still feeling nimble and capable on rocky trails. They are also waterproof and breathable.

If scaling cliffs is more your style, the new SCARPA Maestro Mid Eco is what you’re looking for. Scarpa describes it as bringing comfort to uncomfortable situations, with incredible flex that surpasses what is found in most other climbing shoes but doesn’t sacrifice the rigidity needed for grabbing onto ledges and scaling the toughest of climbs, with an IPC-Tension rand. The outsole is Vibram XS Edge, and the upper is made from 2mm thick Eco Leather.
