Few activities can relate to the adrenaline rush mountain biking provides. And whether you’re hurtling downhill at breakneck speeds or coasting smoothly cross country, you need a mountain bike durable enough for the kind of biking you do. If you’re looking for a full-suspension bike, Marin, widely known for their fantastic and durable bikes, has just released one of the best full-suspension bikes of 2017.
Named after the famed hill overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, the Hawk Hill is a full-suspension bike ready for serious terrain a serious entry-level price. It is built from a hydro-formed Series 3 aluminum frame and 120mm MultiTrac Suspension, with 27.5” wheels. The MultiTrac suspension is similar to Marin’s Isotrac system, but is smaller and more compact. The bike front comes with a RockShox Recon Silver RL fork, and the rear suspension is built around X-Fusion O2 Pro-Shock handles. It also has a Shimano Deore 1×10 drivetrain for smooth uphills and controlled downhills, as well as Shimano disc brakes for sudden, safe stopping on even the messiest of trails.
The Hawk Hill also features an angled bottom bracket and slack head angle, which allows the bike better handling on downhills and trail curves.
While not the fastest or most featured of full-suspension mountain bikes, the Hawk Hill is a solid offering. For its price, it’s an unbeatable value and an excellent bike for trail shedding.
