Logitech, everybody’s favorite electronic accessory maker, has just announced the new CRAFT Keyboard. What’s a Smart Keyboard, you ask? Well, in the case of the CRAFT, it’s a Smart Aluminum Dial on the top left corner of the keyboard, is touch-sensitive, and lets you adjust computer or software settings simply by tapping or turning it.
The CRAFT’s is mainly intended for creative types, or for those who finds themselves using computer software all day long. As such, you can use it with both PC and Mac, and it works with Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe InDesign CC and Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Using the Logitech software, you can set it up to control such functions as brush sizes, brightness, font size, zoom – whatever you’d like. It’s supposed to provide a handy, quick shortcut to some of your favorite functions, a more convenient alternative to keyboard shortcuts.
Alternatively, you can set it up on your Mac to control the computer’s settings, like volume, switching apps and windows, and add one more custom function to any one of your Mac’s apps.
Cool, right? The keyboard itself is slim and modern, backlit with smart illumination that actually detects your fingers and adjusts the brightness depending on the light in the room. There’s also a special button that lets you switch the keyboard between three different devices. And needless to say, it’s also wireless.
The CRAFT Advanced Keyboard will retail for $199.99, and will be out this October. Your office – or creative workspace – might just get a whole lot cooler.
