Lagunitas Brewing Company, based out of Petaluma, California, is one of American’s most popular breweries, thanks to a winning combination of great beer and unique, slightly off-base branding. So when you see that they’ve come up with some kind of hop-infused seltzer water – deemed Hop Water – that is supposed to remind you of the taste of IPA, it actually sounds…good.

Lagunitas Hop Water is pretty much just that; water with hops. It has zero calories, zero carbs, no sugar, no nothing. Just pure sparkling water, a microscopic amount of natural flavors and some brewer’s yeast, and hops, for that pure IPA taste. They’ve used a combination of Citra, Equinox and Centennial hops to create that delicious flavor, and the brewer’s yeast causes some weird thing Lagunitas is calling “bio-transformation.” As far as we can tell, it’s the process that creates that delicious IPA flavor out of the hops…

So, next time you’re craving a refreshing IPA but don’t want the calories or the buzz, reach for some Lagunitas Hop Water. Drink it like a beer or mix it into some other kind of cocktail (if you know any recipes for an IPA cocktail, let us know). We guess there’s always room for a non-alcoholic beverage or two in the fridge….even in summer.
