Ka-Bar is celebrating 120 years of military-grade cutlery. Everyone knows the legendary Ka-Bar, the classic combat knife wielded by the Marines since WWII. But they also make a whole array of dependable, tough-as-nails knives ready to tackle any sticky situation you may find yourself in. The KB3 Becker Tac Tool is a perfect example of this. It’s a collaboration between Ethan Becker of BK&T, and the legendary John Benner of TDI – the Tactical Defense Institute. And it’s ready for anything – cutting, brashing, prying.
The Becker Tac Tool is made from ultra-hardened, 1095 Cro-Van Steel, 56-58 HRC, cut into a chisel molded shape with a wire cutter on the end. The handle is Ultamid. It weighs 12.5” long, with a 7” handle.
There’s a partially serrated edge on the blade, so you can cut through anything, like rope, with ease. But the real draw with this tool is its unmatched versatility and bombproof construction. Smash windows, pry them open. Pry doors open. The pry bar shape can handle it all, and the flat side makes quick work of hammering jobs.
Whether you find yourself in a lot of tough, unpredictable situations, or just want an all-in-one tool that is as at home prying car doors open as it is cutting rope for whatever situation, the Becker Tac Tool can get it done. Ka-Bar includes a hard synthetic sheath, made of what they call Glass Filled Nylon. It’s MOLLE compatible, so you can slap it securely on your backpack and gear. Bonus points: It’s made in the USA.
