The Sentinel Jacket from Iron and Resin is a classic rain jacket, built to be tough and keep you dry. It uses Iron and Resin’s waxed fabric called Iron Cloth – a 65% Polyester / 35% Cotton 9oz micro canvas, with a special wax that repels water with ease. The front closure features snap button and YKK zipper with leather pull, hidden behind the flap. The front flap pockets likewise feature snap button closures, while the vertical chest pocket has a zipper for stashing your wallet, phone or other goodies you need dry. Add the interior welt pocket and you have a good amount of storage for a rain jacket of this style.
There’s an adjustable hood that can be cinched tight with the leather toggles, so it fits comfortably all the time. Same with the drawcord hem, which keeps things tight and water out of the bottom. The cuff closures are adjustable, as well.
But best of all is the Wilderness print on the inside, which adds a bit of personality you won’t find on a lot of other jackets. Maybe that’s what Iron and Resin is trying to accomplish with their products; create some pieces with personality and authenticity. The company was born in Southern California (is that where all American-made clothes are from now?) and aims to create pieces of clothing that last forever and imbue some of that Southern California character – adventurous, a bit rough around the edges. The birthplace of car culture, with miles of open road all around. The Sentinel Jacket captures this sense of adventure and will keep you dry on all your own.
