There are 61 National Parks in the United States, and over 358 more designated areas that are part of the National Park Service (but don’t have the title “National Park). Visiting all of them in one summer is physically impossible (at least, we think it is). But you might as well make the most of the ones you do get to visit by downloading Chimani, the outdoor app that might will soon be the Complete Guide to National Parks.
Right now, Chimani only covers the 64 most popular National Parks in the US (including classics like Yosemite, Arches, Yellowstone, etc). But they’re working on more, and they likely won’t rest until they’ve covered all 418 parks.
Detailed, In-Depth Guides. Local Expertise
Chimani’s guide to each of these 64 parks includes a GPS-enabled, detailed topographic map (that can be downloaded for offline use – very important when you’re off the beaten path and don’t have cell service), that is marked for everything from hiking to biking, includes info and locations for all facilities, a shuttle/bus schedule if applicable, alerts and notifications for that park (when you have reception) and even audio tours for some of the most visited parks (like Yosemite).
You can even “check in” and geo-tag your location, allowing you to unlock badges and points for visiting various parks and sites within those parks. And each guide is carefully written and curated by local experts, who know the place like the back of their hand.
Chimani Perks: Subscription-Based Fee
Chimani is free to download, but Chimani Perks costs $29.99 a year. Or, you can buy it permanently for a one-time price of $99.99. We personally aren’t sure that spending that kind of money on a few “perks” is worth it, but for some, it could make it easier to check off
Whichever you choose, you’re sure to get an in-depth and easy-to-use guide to make your next park experience worth it.
