29 Nov Cavalier Maverick Portable Speaker: Yeah, This Looks Nice.
We all love a nice portable speaker that can blare out some nice tunes with excellent sound quality, virtually wherever we are. But the majority of portable speakers out there (and trust us, there are quite a few…) aren’t exactly the most stylish pieces of gear. Generally, the more you spend, the nicer they get, but there are some nice-looking ones there that will fit in anywhere, without necessarily causing you to empty your wallet. Case in point: Cavalier Maverick.
The Cavalier Maverick looks more form than function; it has a machined aluminum chassis paired with genuine leather trim and a knitted acoustic fabric over the speakers, that work together to create an elegant, show-off worthy piece. But don’t let all that you fool you…there’s still plenty of function, like integrated Amazon Alexa so you can control music with your voice, and built-in WiFi for streaming music from Spotify or Pandora (among others). There’s also Bluetooth, which can come in particularly handy, and a speakerphone with built-in Echo Noise Cancellation (great if you get as annoyed with hearing your voice over speaker phone as we do).
The sound is loud and clear, thanks to the 20W stereo speaker system (2 active drivers, 2 passive radiators), and sounds satisfyingly crisp; enough to fill virtually any room during a party. Battery life is rated to 9 hours (more than enough for any evening) and a USB-C charging cable seals the deal.
So who’s it for? Those of us with a sense of style, who value function, good sound and good looks – and not to mention a bit of portability and convenience (you might call it an Echo alternative, with that cylindrical design) – but don’t quite have the funds to reach for some of the pricier (and more exotic) options out there. You can snag one on Huckberry for yourself.
