06 Nov Be Sure To Get Some of Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout This Fall
Something about Goose Island just speaks Fall to us. There’s nothing quite like sipping on one or two of their classic IPA on a brisk Autumn afternoon, while catching a glimpse of the game, which is why we’re pretty excited to try out some of the new beers they are releasing this fall, like the expanded Bourbon County Stout line. They’ve been brewing these gorgeously rich, dark stouts for something like two decades, but enjoy releasing limited editions and new additions every once in a while. This year’s got a whole lineup planned out: the original Bourbon County Brand Stout, a Reserve Bourbon County Brand Stout, Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, Proprietor’s Bourbon County Brand Stout, Bourbon County Brand Stout, and Bourbon County Brand Barleywine. All promise to be dark, smooth and strong.
The one we are particularly excited about, however, is the new Bourbon County Reserve Brand Stout. It will come aged in 11-year-old Knob Creek bourbon barrels, for original, rich, Kentucky flavor. Expect rich charred vanilla and caramel flavors, punctuated by dark, spicy malt and promising 14.8% ABV. Sounds incredible just thinking about. We’ll probably find ourselves reaching for one of their Coffee Stouts, too, featuring Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso infused right in.
Sadly, you won’t be able to get all the Bourbon County Stout’s everywhere. Maybe a roadtrip to Chicago or Kentucky is in order…
