12 Jul The DBS Superleggera Is Our New Favorite Aston Martin
We’re fans of every Aston Martin, but something about the DBS Superleggera just blows us away – and we think it might even be the best-looking Aston Martin out there. Seriously, this baby is absolutely beautiful.
The new DBS Supeleggera boasts a full carbon-fiber body, making it a decent 72kg lighter than the DB11 v12, with a curbweight of 1800kg. The 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 puts out a powerful 715 bhp and 664 lb-ft of torque, all of which is channeled into an 8-speed auto transmission. The transmission powers a carbon-fiber propshaft and turns some Pirelli P Zero tires in the rear for some serious speed; the 0-62 is 3.4 seconds, and it tops out at 211 mph.
The brakes are carbon-ceramics measuring 410mm in the front and 360mm in the back and allowing the Superleggera to stop on a time and handle corners like no other. Inside is an interior very similar to the DB11, with a racing wheel, Alcantara and leather seats and upholstery, with aluminum and carbon fiber trim throughout. No surprises here, just pure Aston Martin luxury. There’s also a ton of features built-in, like auto-park assist, 360-degree parking camera, and WiFi, as well as a high-end audio system.
Combine all that with an adaptive suspension, mechanical differential with torque vectoring, and a seemingly sculpted geometry, and this is one smooth-riding, beautifully-handing, dust-kicking sportscar more than worthy of being James Bond’s next getaway car. Want one? The DBS Superleggera will cost you just under $300,000 – chump change.
