PC enthusiast? No doubt you’re familiar with Acer’s line of PC peripherals, known for their quality and reliability. The XN253QX, the newest model in Acer’s predator series, is no exception.
Acer Predator: Ultra-Fast Display Times
With a 240Hz frame refresh rate, the Predator is ultra-fast, capable of turning out extremely smooth visuals with minimal tearing and stuttering. 32 inches across, this monitor comes in many different models – from the extremely high-resolution (4k UHD) to the more modest (1920 x 1080). It also has an extremely low 0.4 ms response time. The lower the response time, the faster gamepad inputs register. Even a millisecond can be the difference between making a difficult in-game shot or action and missing it entirely.
The XN253QX comes with “Acer Game Mode,” which includes presets tailored to different genres – from action and racing to RPGs and MMOs. And it has 2 separate inputs, HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 (a 240Hz refresh rate is only available on DisplayPort 1.2). And, with built-in support for Nvidia’s G-SYNC, the Predator can automatically detect Nvidia peripheral hardware and optimize performance to match.
As far as aesthetics go, the Predator is a real looker. The angular casing looks good sitting on any desk, and the “zero-frame” design makes the displayed image flush with the rest of the screen. The side casing includes 2 USB 3.0 ports for fast charging of connected devices. The thin design means it fits on smaller workspaces.
High-End Monitor Worth The Investment
It certainly ain’t cheap, but the Predator is a high-quality product. To get the most out of it, you need a PC powerful enough to take advantage of the high refresh rates and low response times. But, even with lower-grade desktop builds, the Predator is a solid investment and gorgeous looking screen that’ll take your immersive gaming experience to the next level.
