16 Mar About Vintage Watches: Timeless Timepieces With Minimalist Appeal
Straight from Copenhagen, where minimalist and simplicity in design reign supreme, and designed by Skov Andersen, About Vintage watches combine the best of old-fashioned, classic design with modern simplicity. And we think they are on to something. There is an elegance and understated luxury to their designs that we find enticing, and can’t stop staring at.
First up is the 1815 Chronograph line. So named because the Chronograph technique was invented in 1815, these quartz movement watches are downright beautiful. A sapphire crystal domed glass sits over a Dark blue sunray dial, with steel dots and hands, laid into a 316 High Precision Stainless steel case. Each watch individual number is engraved into the back of the case. The movement is a Miyota 6S11 Chronograph. It’s rated down to 5 ATM water-resistance, and each comes with a custom-made walnut box for storage and display. This watch is enchantingly beautiful.
The 1971 series is a collection of Swiss Made watches, named after the year Swiss laws were defined on what constitutes a “Swiss Made” watch. The Swiss Made series features a ETA 2824-2 Automatic (Swiss Made) movement on an Off white with Midnight Blue dial, or a Black with brushed steel/gold/rose gold hands one, with the same 316L High Precision Steel case and sapphire crystal domed glass as the 1815 Chronograph. This time, it’s water-resistant down to 10 ATM. And it also comes with the beautifully handmade walnut box, and an Italian leather strap with butterfly clasp finishes off the ensemble.
If you’d like a gorgeous, unique watch with a simple, clean design, we love About Vintage. Their watches come with a 10-Year Guarantee against defects. Some are affordable and some not so much – but they are all beautiful.
