Spring is in full swing and summer’s creeping around the corner -which means that if you haven’t, it’s time to start decking yourself out for summer cookouts and casual get-togethers. And when “casual” and “cool” are the idea, white is the name of the game. White sneakers might seem a little 90’s, but trust us – they’re just as in as they ever have been, provided you pull them off right.

Which isn’t too hard; white sneakers look great with jeans or chinos, and are especially at home with a nice pair of fitted summer shorts in any color (though, you may want to avoid white-on-khaki). Don’t believe us? Take a look at some of these white sneakers we’ve collected.

Reebok Club C 85

Doesn’t get much more classic than a pair of white Reeboks. These shoes look like they came right out of 1989…but in timeless way. They’ve got a soft leather upper with die-cut EVA midsole for extra comfort, and a nice, low-cut design that pairs well with both shorts and jeans. They’ve also got a Union Jack on the quarter-panel, showing off Reebok’s proud British heritage.

Vans Canvas Old Skool

Old School is cool, especially when it comes to skate shoes. Vans released this version of their Old Skool in celebration of 50 years of Off the Wall skating, and these bad boys look sweet whether you’re nailing flips or just out for drinks, with their low-cut silhouette and canvas upper. They’ve also got that classic Vans waffle sole. For a trim, classic and low-key look, you want these shoes.

Nike Air Force 1

Why basketball shoes? Because they’re cool. This modern take on an iconic pair of kicks has a leather and synthetic upper, rubber sole, and all around vintage Nike look that throws back to 1982, when they first came out. The low-top design has a thickly padded ankle collar for a snug, comfy fit, while the perforated toes provide ample ventilation. Pair them with jeans or chinos for a casual-but-cool look this summer.

Polo Ralph Lauren Faxon

For something a little bit classier, Polo Ralph Lauren has you covered. These sneakers are a simple and sophisticated take on classic sneakers, clean cut and with little ado. They are appropriate with both casual and slightly more dressy outfits, especially with a good pair of chinos and polo shirt. Made with cotton and leather suede, they’ve got the signature Polo pony on one side, and a clean white and black synthetic sole.

Saint Laurent

The obligatory splurge. These gorgeous white sneakers aren’t cheap, but if you’re looking for something classy and dressy (like the Polo sneakers above) that still work for casual occasions, Saint Laurent has you covered. They made them in Italy with a rich, luxurious off-white leather, with very small, subtle perforated holes along the side to let your feet breathe freely. The footbed and tongue are extra padded for comfort. Gold Saint Laurent emblems and rubber soles round out the ensemble. They even come with an included dust bag and spare laces. If luxury is the name of the game here, you’ve got little other choice.
