Looking for a high-fidelity, good-looking turntable – but can’t be bothered with elaborate, multi-part setups? The Seed turntable, found on the depths of Kickstarter, combines fantastic sound quality, high-power output, a vinyl turntable, and wireless streaming, in a single-piece of luxurious-looking hardware.
Wireless capability lets you hook up your phone, PC or tablet using Wifi or Bluetooth, and is complemented by RCA, AUX and SPDIF. This is in addition to the classic turntable, that lets you pop in your favorite vinyls on demand, and internet streaming, which lets you connect directly to Napster, Spotify, iHeartRadio and TuneIn. Using the Seed App, you can control volume, change songs and switch input at the touch of a button.
The 70W amp complements two 1″ silk tweeters and two 4″ subs for some serious sound. Frequency response is “flat”, which means that reproduces audio accurately and faithfully to the source. Ballistic Kevlar fiber deepens bass and enriches sound quality. A special shock absorber – their “Tri-Point” system – which distributes the weight of the tonearm and platter evenly, absorbing vibrations and filtering rumbles out of the sound. In fact, peak distortion tops out at 0.08% – completely unnoticeable, even when listening on HiFi headphones.
All this is enclosed in a classic wooden case, with a vintage look perfect for modern decor with a twist.
