02 Aug Is The Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch Worth the Price Tag?
What exactly is the Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch? Essentially, it’s just the already pricy Huawei 2 Watch, with a big, fancy Porsche Design logo and even-larger price tag on it. To be fair, that’s what Porsche Design does with a lot of their products. You get red accents, red Porsche stripes on the wristband, and all the features found on the regular Huawei watch: a scratch-resistant, touch-screen interface, GPS tracking, heart-rate monitor, IPX6 water resistance, Google Assistant, the ability to download and listen to music without a phone attached. It runs off Android Wear’s 2.0 interface, and you can make and receive calls from your phone, make mobile payments at stores, and a few other nifty features you’ll find standard on other smartwatches. In other words, it’s a sweet, high-end watch, but offers nothing particularly special.
Is all that worth the $900+ price tag? That’s open for debate, and is entirely up to you. If you drive a Porsche and want a matching watch, perhaps. We wouldn’t think so ourselves. You may be better off saving $700 and opting for the regular, non-Porsche model.
