29 May LifeStraw Go: Making Ultralight Adventures Lighter
The first thing you pack when gearing up for an adventure is most likely water. It is also likely that the heaviest thing you pack when gearing for an adventure is water. This isn’t so bad when you are simply heading out for a day hike or weekend jaunt. But what about longer overnight trips, where the last thing you want to do is lug around several gallons of water? Enter the Lifestraw Go.
Lifestraw is already known for their game-changing personal water filter, which has been revolutionizing water-filtration for over a decade with it’s incredibly simple, compact and easy-to-use design. The LifeStraw Go builds upon the original idea, but with even greater capacity and convenience than the original.
The LifeStraw Go is a durable, 23-ounce water bottle made from BPA-free Tritan plastic, which makes it safe and extremely inert as far as plastic water bottles go. What really sets it apart, however, is it’s 2-stage filter. The first stage is a hollow-fiber membrane filter with a filter size down to .2 microns, capable of removing 99.99% percent of waterborne bacteria and protozoa, including E Coli. and Giardia – two of the most common waterborne pathogens in the US.
The second stage is an activated carbon capsule, which filters out chlorine and unpleasant tastes. This carbon capsule lasts up to 100 liters, and is completely replaceable upon wearing out.
How does it work? Simply fill the bottle up with untreated water and drink through the built-in straw. Voila. Clean, safe and taste-free water, wherever you are.
You have your choice of 5 different colors. Every LifeStraw Go includes a strap and d-ring, for hooking the bottle to your kit.
