07 Jul Is the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster The Toughest Watch Ever?
When it comes to rugged watches, built to last in the outdoors, G-Shock watches are the name of the game – with models ranging from the very affordable to the slightly-less-so. The G-Shock Mudmaster is another addition to this line of trustworthy timepieces – water-resistant, shock-resistant and built to handle just about anything you can throw at it – from dirty work with your hands to extended outdoor odysseys.
The watch case is made of resin, as is the strap. It withstands all kinds of mud and grime that might be thrown it’s way, and the the water-resistance holds down to 200 meters. There are two LED backlights, a digital compass for navigation, as well as a thermometer, stop watch and world time feature. There is also a countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, hourly time signal, low battery alert, and a full-auto calendar.
The buttons in the case have gaskets and screw-locks, which work to keep water and dirt out of the watch. G-Shock’s alphaGel is packed under the watch face, absorbing vibrations and securing the lug screws. The
Features aside, this is a solidly-built and very cool looking watch, and with the G-Shock reputation, you know it’ll last. It’s large, yes, but if you find yourself outside quite a bit in varying conditions, you probably won’t find another option at this price range.
