Aarke Lets You Make Your Own Carbonated Water At Home

Carbonated water is always a welcome break from just regular old, plain tap water. But if we’re being honest, it’s easy to drink a lot of it – way too much, sometimes – and rack a bit of a tab (and quite a few glass bottles, while we’re at it). If you have developed a bit of a sparkling water habit, however, there is some good news: you can now make your own, right in your kitchen, using nothing but your own tap water and the Aarke Carbonator.

Aarke hails from Sweden, where they know a thing or two about engineering and design, and making elegant, refined pieces that not only look good in your home but last for a long time, too. The Aarke is built from solid stainless steel that blends right in, whether your kitchen is chic modern or something a little more conventional. It uses standard Sodastream 60L Co2 cartridges, which you can purchase online or at almost any home or grocery store.

All you have to do is pop the Sodastream cartridge in,  fill one of the three included PET bottles with water from your tap (or bottled water, if you prefer) and screw it onto the machine. Pull the lever down until it buzzes, release, and there you have it. Quick, easy carbonated, sparkling water for your enjoyment, and a fraction of the recycling and hassle of buying cases of Pellegrino all the time. You can further flavor it and spice things up as you see fit.
